Self-management means taking control of living with your condition, and is crucial for your emotional and physical wellbeing.

Self-management can be life-changing. It encourages an attitude whereby you accept that arthritis affects you, but do not allow it to control you. Arthritis is after all just one part of who you are.

Taking control of managing your arthritis is hugely liberating. Education about arthritis and the support that is available are simple but powerful steps to regain control of your life, even if you have had arthritis for years. It can reduce workplace stresses, or help you get back into work, which has great rewards.

Arthritis Care offers self-management training courses that teach techniques and offer support on living positively with arthritis. This can include exercise, healthy eating, relaxation or just pacing yourself so you put less strain on yourself and your joints.
