Arthritis Care offers free workshops and courses to help people with arthritis learn how to cope with their condition and get the most out of life. We also provide courses to people with other long-term conditions, and run workshops to develop other people’s understanding of arthritis.

Is it for me?

Anyone can take part. While we may use the words ‘training’ and ‘programmes’, our courses and workshops are not academic. They are friendly, informal sessions in accessible venues. Our accredited trainers will help you to learn more about your condition and self-management. They will guide you through setting goals and making positive changes to your life. And, because these courses are funded, we won’t charge you a penny to attend.

Who will I meet?

People of all ages and backgrounds attend and benefit from our courses and workshops. We run tailored sessions for adults and for under-18s. People in the groups often face similar issues and their empathy and true understanding can give you a real boost. The trainers all have arthritis themselves (or another long-term condition), so speak from experience. They have received intensive, professional training; most are volunteers, giving their time freely.

What will I get from it?

Participants tell us that they have gained knowledge, confidence and independence through our courses. We will help you to develop your understanding of your condition so that you are able to make positive decisions about your treatment and your life choices. People completing our courses have gone on to experience less pain, become more active, make new friends, even, in some cases, return to employment or higher education. Take a look at what previous participants have said.

How can I find out more?

This website will tell you about the different courses and will show what is available in your area. (Please note we are currently providing courses in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Cardiff, Wrexham and Gwynedd only). If you use our form to register your interest in any course we will send you further details. However, you are very welcome to contact our office and talk anything through. We endeavour to cater for any special requirements, please just tell us what yours are.
