10 million steps for people with arthritis
This spring we are offering our supporters in Wales the chance to Amble for Arthritis as part of Arthritis Care Week (May 9-15). Building on the success of last year’s ambles, we want to get many more people involved.
To raise awareness that there are 10 million people with arthritis in the UK, we are looking for our participants to cover 10 million steps between them. This means 500 people walking 10 miles each or 1,000 people walking 5 miles.
We are holding organised ambles in Wepre Park, Flintshire on the 19th May and in Roath Park, Cardiff. These will be open to everyone – members of Arthritis Care and their family and friends, branch members, young people – in fact anyone who would like to support our charity and the work we do for people with arthritis.
We are also encouraging people to organise their own ambles. It doesn’t matter where, when or how long the walk is. It could be in the local park, around a lake, through your city centre or even on the beach.
What does matter is that participants have a good time, and achieve something both for Arthritis Care and themselves.
