Campaigning success
Handrails are to be added to the splash pool and the toddler pool in the Pavilions Leisure Centre, Horsham.
Siobhain McCurrach, area development manager for the South Central region, organised a day with local MP, Francis Maude, to shadow a person with arthritis. The aim of the day was to highlight for MPs the barriers that people with arthritis face on a daily basis. During a trip to the Pavilions Leisure Centre it was noted that there were difficulties wading across the splash pool. The council agreed to add a rail to the splash pool and a second rail to improve access to the toddler pool.
Siobhain McCurrach commented that 'it was a great result.'
