Charlotte Bateman launched herself out of a plane with her brother Jack, pictured beneath his instructor, and a group of brave skydivers to raise money for Arthritis Care.

Diagnosed at age 13, she had a double hip operation at only 18 years old. A volunteer for the Young People’s Project run by Arthritis Care, she is a testimony to achieving your ambitions.

Her fellow skydivers,

  • Martin Millard,
  • Rob Watkins,
  • Andy Hillier and
  • Sally Knudsen

together raised a total of £1397 for young people with arthritis. The largest single sponsor was Matthew Burwell, the surgeon who replaced Charlotte’s hips. “If it hadn’t been for him, I wouldn’t have been able to do this,” said Charlotte.
