Learn to sail in the Isle of Wight

We run a number of fun workshops specifically designed for young people.

Coming up we have a positive future workshop at the United Kingdom Sailing Academy on the Isle of Wight, the weekend of 27-29 July 2012.

It's a fantastic opportunity to try your hand at several activities in the 'work hard, play hard' environment that is UKSA. There will be the opportunity to go crabbing, visit Sandown Pier, gain a Powerboat Level 1 certificate or learn to kayak.

There will also be time to relax and get to know other young people with arthritis in the comfortable social room where you can play pool, watch a film or just chat. Mealtimes offer a choice of tasty freshly cooked food where all diets are catered for.

The weekend is led by staff and volunteers who have arthritis themselves, and if you don't feel able to do a particular activity an alternative will always be available.

Read what was written by one  young person who has been on these weekends in the past:

'I love going to UKSA because I love all water sports. Also, being with other people who have arthritis makes me feel more confident about myself and less worried about trying new things.'

'I have worked really hard at UKSA and have got up to Level 3 in my youth RYA log book, and they have told me that once I finish Level 4 I can be a junior assistant instructor. I can't wait for this as I really want to be a water sports instructor when I am older. I wouldn't have got this far as quickly, if I hadn't gone to UKSA with the Young People's Project. I feel really lucky.'

If this sounds like your sort of thing why not sign up today?
