What is the People Bank?

Arthritis Care’s People Bank is a collection of people with arthritis who support our work in a number of ways.

How does the People Bank work?

Arthritis Care contacts members of the People Bank to share their experiences of living with arthritis. This might be in the form of an interview for a feature in Arthritis News – our lifestyle magazine for people with arthritis – or for one of our other publications. We also ask People Bank members to try out products for Arthritis News.

When we are updating or writing publications, we send a draft to some People Bank members to read and make comments on. The feedback we receive is invaluable and ensures that the information we provide is helpful, relevant and accessible.

We are frequently approached by journalists looking for people to interview for national and local newspapers, magazines, television and radio. Some People Bank members opt to do this, but it’s not compulsory.

You can choose the kind of activities you would like to get involved in by ticking the relevant boxes on the questionnaire. We will never give your information to any journalist or organisation without contacting you first.

Joining the People Bank

We want increase the number of people within the Central England region on the People Bank, so that your experiences of living with arthritis in the region can be reflected in Arthritis Care’s work.

You can sign up to the People Bank online or you can download a copy of the full questionnaire. Please return it to: People Bank, Publications Department, Arthritis Care, 18 Stephenson Way, London NW1 2HD. Or email it to PeopleBank@ArthritisCare.org.uk.
