The NHS in England is going through a period of enormous and potentially destabilising change.
In order to achieve better services for people with arthritis, it’s vital to influence the decisions that are being made – and they are being made increasingly at the local level.
This can start with you, as an individual service user, reporting on the care and treatment you receive. Practice Participation Groups (PPGs) currently act as the ‘voice of patients’. Local Involvement Network (LINk) groups are set to take over this role in 2012.
It is vitally important that we have a clear picture of the real situation in localities across England. Please help us monitor how various bodies are actually involving people with arthritis, and how they are responding to membership enquiries.
We'd like to know if you have joined one of these groups - or if you were unable, what response you received - and your experience of these groups generally. Please email Campaigns@arthritiscare.org.uk with your accounts.
